THE WISDOM OF GATHERING

 SPIRIT MEAT DEVOTIONAL

_Isaiah 60:22; Deuteronomy 8:18_

 MESSAGE 

Financial discipline requires you to deny instant gratification for long-term benefit. Once some people receive money, an inner pressure says, “Spend me,” and they obey until nothing remains. Only afterwards do they remember the serious things the money could have accomplished. You must learn to compress needs, buy wisely and choose durability over deceptive cheapness. Daily purchases can often be gathered into weekly or monthly buying, which reduces repeated spending and may lower cost. A cheap item that fails repeatedly can become more expensive than a quality item bought once. Wisdom does not ask only, “What is cheaper today?” It asks, “What will serve well over time?”

A farmer who eats his seed satisfies hunger for a moment but destroys the harvest. In the same way, money saved for a vehicle, course, property or business can be diverted by a temporary desire. Refuse that diversion. Buy quality where durability truly matters, but do not use quality as an excuse for luxury and pride. The goal is value, not display. Also make room for the prophetic. God may give an instruction concerning where to keep funds, when to move them or what opportunity to pursue because He sees what you cannot see. Some people lost their life savings when financial institutions collapsed, while others may have received warnings they ignored. God comes ahead of danger, but you must remain sensitive and act swiftly when His direction is clear.

Settle the principle that gathering is part of obedience. Do not let friends, adverts, trends or your own impulses distract you from a financial goal. Their spending habits may reflect a different purpose, income or responsibility. Stay focused. There is joy at the end of accumulation, just as a farmer rejoices when the harvest enters the barn. The fragments you preserve today can become tomorrow’s answer. The small savings you protect can fund destiny, preserve your family, advance God’s work and give you room to enjoy life without bondage. Let wisdom govern your gifts, grace, relationships, information, courage, work and time. Reject every force that scatters, displaces or keeps you restless. Become planted, disciplined and patient. God is able to make a little one a thousand, but you must not continually waste the little. Gather what He gives, save with purpose, work faithfully and allow time to multiply obedience. Your future will not be eaten bit by bit. By the grace of God, your labour will come together into something tangible, fruitful and worthy of His purpose. Review your accounts, set the percentage, record your spending and establish the goals. The Word becomes profitable when it enters structure. Let this teaching leave evidence in your habits, reserves, investments and capacity to obey God.
